The census will be conducted on Wednesday, October 1st as the survey reference date.
The population census is Japan's most important statistical survey, covering all people (including foreigners) and households living in Japan. It is conducted every five years in accordance with the Statistics Act to clarify the actual situation of the country's population and households.
The results of the census will be used to formulate various plans that are essential for Japan's future, such as welfare policies, improving living environments, and disaster prevention measures.
Enumerators will visit every household in the city from late September to distribute questionnaires. Enumerators will always carry an enumerator's ID. We ask for your cooperation in the survey.
There are two ways to respond. Please respond by either method within the specified period.
- Answer online Once you receive the questionnaire at home, access the answering site from your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Response period: Saturday, September 20th to Wednesday, October 8th - Fill out the questionnaire and respond. Please fill out the questionnaire in pencil and send it in the return envelope. If you would like a surveyor to collect it, they will come to you at a later date.

Those receiving Child Rearing Allowance, Special Child Rearing Allowance, Welfare Allowance for Disabled Children, or Special Disability Allowance are required to submit a Current Status Notification. Notification will be sent out by early August, so please be sure to submit it within the period.

We are looking for volunteers to help with chopping firewood and firing the climbing kiln, which will be firing nonstop for four days, day and night.
